Technical details

The Jaguar E-type S2 Coupé evolved just a little bit from the iconic S1 Coupé:

Because of US safety regulations:

• the covered headlamps were replaced by open ones,
• also the rear lights had to be more visible &
• bumpers had to be on the same height.

For emission regulations:

• Stromberg carburettors were fitted (today replaced by the European spec SU carburettor set-up)

For reliability reasons:

• the “mouth” was enlarged for better cooling,
  
• a more performant brake servo was installed,
• a full synchromesh 4-speed gearbox fitted.For comfort:
• better enveloping adjustable seats were mounted, of course trimmed in leather (it’s a Jaguar!)

Apart from these details the Jaguar S2 Coupé is just as stylish, retained the purity of line which stunned the world in 1961 and offers the same spectacular performance & driving pleasure!

This BRG/black leather trim Jaguar E-type started life in 1969 in sunny and dry Arizona - USA, which guaranteed a very sound body structure when bought in 1992 by a Dutch enthusiast.

After all the energy invested by Dutch classic car specialists, lots of bills (all present in the history file) paid by the owner and 15 years of patience this matching numbers E-type S2 Coupé resurrects exactly as how this Jaguar left the Coventry factory in 1969.

Except for a few intelligent upgrades which were fitted during the restoration:

• European spec triple SU carburettor set-up for better performance.
• Tremex 5-speed gearbox for relaxed cruising on the motorway.
• Stainless steel exhaust.
• Set of slightly wider chrome wire wheels.
