My Belgian customer bought this Jaguar XK in the USA some 25 years ago. He selected wisely a very sound, today sought after, XK140 DHC in SE specification benefitting from the performant C-type cylinder head.
Being himself a talented engineer, he prepared this Jaguar himself to actively participate at the classic rally scene in Belgium and Holland. Over the years he also improved his XK by fitting:
- Disc brakes with twin pistons per caliper at the front.- A full synchromesh gearbox.- High capacity waterpump.- Additional electric cooling fan in front of the radiator.- An alternator- A high reving starter engine.
This jaguar was campaigned intensively and at a certain point a fully reconditionned replacement engine was fitted. Luckily the matching numbers C-type cylinder head was preserved.
When driving this Jaguar XK, one feels immediately that it has been very well sorted. Nicely balanced and homogene.
The presentation in the original colour of Maroon with black leather upholstery, showing a charming patina, is very attractive but not concours.
