Other than the 105 Giulia GT Sprint designed by Bertone, the GTC was built by ‘Touring’ of Milan, the once famous Italian Carrozzeria favoured by Alfa Romeo since 1926. Their design transformed the GT coupe into an attractive 4-seater with unique wind-down rear windows and hidden roof when folded, yet maintaining a reasonable boot area. Reinforcements were added to several areas of the bodyshell to prevent any scuttle shake.  While resulting in only a slight weight-increase, the outcome was quite successful.

Released at the Geneva Motor Show to an enthusiastic public, many orders were taken but only 1000 examples were produced in 1965 and 1966 which makes the GTC quite a rare find.

This particular one is very well documented and was built the 5th of February 1965 and sold a few days later to its first owner in Paris.

Recently, this little sporty Alfa has been completely restored and overhauled. The bodywork was done in Italy where they chose for an attractive Dark Blue with a lush red interior. The original stainless steel brightwork has been chromed to enjoy a classic mirror finish that is easy to maintain .

Instead of the original 1600CC engine, a more potent 1750cc engine was chosen for some extra torque which makes it easy to navigate today’s traffic.  The gearbox, however, was retained.

An immensely rewarding open sportscar to drive and with a beautiful summer in sight, this GTC is an excellent choice to create some wonderful wind-in-your-hair memories.

Not convinced ? Try googling the famous F1 race driver ‘Juan Manuel Fangio + Giulia GTC’, and you’ll find several awesome vintage videos of him testing the GTC on legendary Pirelli Cinturato’s…  See you soon !
