This elegant and rare Rolls Royce convertible with chassis number LSJR581C was sold new in April 1965 by the Paris based French Rolls Royce importer Garage Franco-Britannic to Mme Lacroix (known by everybody because of the « Lacroix » bleaking water) from Neuilly-sur-Seine.

This exclusive Rolls Royce was flown over in style on the 30-th of March by the BUAF (British United Air Ferries) between the little airfields of Ferryfield (in Kent/England) and Le Touquet at the French side of the Channel.  

This sought after European delivered “Chinese Eye” convertible, as indicated by copies of its original build sheet and chassis cards, left the coachbuilder in « Valentines Ming Blue » with « Off White » leather trim and hood, which is still the actual colour combintation.

Further options included :

- Dunlop white wall tyres- Electric windows to doors- Power operated hood- Foot switch for high frequency horns- Hirschmann electric arial- Controllable front shock dampers- Speedo in Kms.

A nice history file with numerous letters between successive owners and the Garage Franco-Britannic retraces the cars maintenance & owners history in France.

From this documentation it is obvious that this « Chinese Eye » Rolls Royce Convertible lived a sheltered life in the ownership of 4 succesive Rolls Royce enthusiasts. For example in January 1973 the total Kms were a mere : 15.513 Km!

Sold in 2002 to a Belgian doctor and Rolls Royce enthusiast who sadly passed away recently this rare LHD Rolls Royce is offered again for sale. Today the Km-counter shows: 78.443 Km.

Inspected in our classic car garage, which has serviced and restored many Cloud Rolls Royces and S Bentleys in our past 34 years of activity, we can confirm the remarkably excellent, very sound and original condition of this Silver Cloud III Continental model.

Perfectly illustrated by the acompagnying photographs this Rolls Royce shows great presence and style with an attractive, slightly patinated leather interior.
