Alfa Romeo 1900 TI ex-Mille Miglia

Alfa Romeo 1900 TI 1954 LHD ex-Mille Miglia When I took away the cover protecting this Alfa Romeo 1900 TI from dust in a storage place in Italy, I was not immediately aware that I found an ex-Mille Miglia Alfa Romeo. Going through the cars documentation and cronological history kept by the Automobile Club d'Italia, revealed that this Alfa Romeo TI (Turismo Internazionale) belonged to the famous coachbuilder Mario Fantuzzi and that he had entered this 1900 TI twice into the Mille Miglia. In 1954 (starting number: 251) when he arrived 10-th OA, and a second time in 1955 (starting number: 342) which race he didnt finish. Several model car manufacturers produced a copy of the Fantuzzi/Fancelli 1954 Mille Miglia Alfa Romeo 1900 TI with starting number 251 in 1/43 scale. The Turismo Internazionale upgrade on the Alfa Romeo 1900 is not so common (approx. 400 examples), but this Alfa Romeo is certainly an original TI and shows all the typical extras (high profile camshafts, big carburettor, bigger drum brakes, rev-counter, etc...) this model should have. Structurally in excellent condition, with an exterior colour change from grey to black from several years ago, the actual presentation of this 1900 TI is totally satisfactory. Chrome is still very nice and the interior is in a very nice original condition. The mechanics are all in fine order, but, after this long storage, certainly need to be looked after. This historic Alfa Romeo 1900 TI represents the perfect opportunity to participate at next years Mille Miglia without breaking the bank.
