Maybe an unusual classic in my stocklist, but certainly an interesting alternative for someone who is looking for a performant 30ies tourer. This 8 cylinder in line supercharged Auburn 852 was, and in a way still is, a remarkable grand tourer in 1935. As a result of the megalomane plans of the company's director E.L.Cord, who also owned Duesenberg and Cord, this quality automobile producing 150 HP thanks to the supercharged 8 and capable of 160 km/h was well ahead of its time but arrived at the wrong moment just after the financial crash of the early 30ies. We can immagine that not many were sold new in France in 1935, but this example was indeed bought new by Mr. Auschitzky living in Arcachon in the Landes. With apparently only 1 owner in between, this Auburn arrived in 1980 into the hands of my Brussels' customer. He could afford to take very well care of this prestigeous tourer and had a no expence spared restoration executed on the Auburn by the best specialists available. Since then, he used this elegant Pheaton once in a while in the Belgian classic car scene. 25 years later this Auburn is still in superb, very well cared for condition and absolutely ready to go. If you are still looking for an elegant convertible with plenty of comfort for 4 and super performances than this rare Auburn 852 Pheaton will offer you this pleasure in total reliability.
