This lovely AC DHC has probably the most elegant and practical body fitted, which could be ordered from the factory in Thames Ditton. This 2-seater convertible seats the driver and a passenger in exceptionnal comfort thanks to wind up side windows and an easy to erect hood. The rear dicky seat for occasional passengers can also be used as a spacious luggage compartiment. Chassis and body construction are in excellent condition and show clearly that this AC was always very well maintained by only 3 previous owners of which 2 were long term proprietors. Very recently the, for that period, state of the art 2 liter, 6 cylinder engine has been completely overhauled (with invoices to prove this quality job). On the road this AC DHC is a joy to drive. Smooth and good power from the "modern" engine(excellent oil-pressure), easy gearchange from the ENV 4 speed box, good suspension, steering and brakes. Probably the strongest attraction comes from the huge charm which emanates from this lovely AC. Partly because of the general patina and partly thanks to nice period features such as an AC-ashtray combined with pipe holder, the St Christoffle badge, a commemoration plate of a third price in an AC concours event in Enstone in 1951, etc... A nice extra is a very complete history file back to 1938 with original AC cars invoices, newspaper adverts, photographs, etc..., all kept and completed by the 3 previous owners. This charming AC DHC is still registered in England under nr CGF44 and could be yours for a tempting 47.500 euro
