Auburn 852 Supercharged Pheaton-Convertible 1936 RHD I always thought that not many USA produced classics did fit into the variety of my classic car garage except the Auburn and Cord cars, because of their innovative engineering and advanced styling. After having owned exactly the same Auburn a couple of years ago, it is with pleasure that I welcome into my classic car collection another example of these elegant 4 seat-4 door convertibles again. The Belgian previous owner has been known for many many years as a very meticulous American classic car collector. Because of growing older he asked me reluctantly to sell his pride and joy for him. After having been in contact with Auburn historian Mr. Stan Gilliland the provenance and authenticity of this Aburn 852 was confirmed. Yes, this impressive thirties convertible looks stunning on the photographs, but I can assure you this is even more the case in reality. The remarkable styling of the whole body and particularly the front grille and long bonnet, the art-deco teardrop headlamps and showy chrome plated exhaust pipes contributed all to a rakish appearance. Inspecting this Auburn on the ramps evenso the underneath is spic & span! Testing this beauty on the road the positive impressions continue to overwhelm driver and passengers. Amazing power from the Lycoming straight eight 279 ci engine developping thanks to the boost of the Schwitzer and Cummings supercharger 150 hp enabling the car to exceed 100 Miles/hour. Light steering, easy gearchange from the 3-speed box and very effective hydraulic brakes on the 4 wheels all add to the driving pleasure. 1936 being the last production year of Aburn only 1.850 examples of this 852 model were produced. Your chance to buy one of the most amazing American tourers!
