Jaguar E-type S1 3.8 "Flat Floor" roadster
What a nice feeling when an old friend comes back visiting you!
During my long classic car carreer, every time our paths crossed, I learned to appreciate this particular Jaguar E-type more and more.
Because this E-type:
- is a very early 1961 “Flat Floor” production model.
- was sold new in Belgium.
- belonged to a pair of very enthusiast Belgian Jaguar collectors, who understood the exceptionality of this Jaguar sportscar.
- was rigorously maintained with great respect for her lovely original condition. Testimony to this is the lovely patina on the original leather upholstery.
- is still matching numbers and correct into the smallest details.
- has great presentation in the original colour combination of “Opalescent Silver Grey” with black trim.
- benefitted from a recent complete overhaul.
- is very well documented with a huge, very well kept file.
Caractéristiques techniques
How delighted was I when in 2015 the heirs of the last owner Mr. Dan VDB, who ended his career as Jaguar Belgium PR responsible, asked me to find a new owner for his beloved Jaguar E-type.
An E-type Dan, thanks to his position, had carefully selected to join his charming classic car collection.
I must admit I was a bit surprised that not a Belgian, but an overseas customer quickly understood the exceptional value & charm of this Jaguar E-type and struck a deal with me.
What better E-type could we welcome back into our classic car garage in this 60-th Anniversary year of the launch of the Jaguar E-type at the Geneva motor show, than this 1961 original Belgian Flat Floor E-type?
Proud as we are with this new acquisition, we decided to exhibit this charming E-type as the star attraction of our stand at the Brussels InterClassics show.
