With this LG45 Tourer, Lagonda continued in its' tradition of very sporty cars (with their own words " we didn't want to kill the tiger") while also offering the deluxe running comfort of the new Bentley generation (or in the words of Alan Good to his chief engineer W.O. Bentley: "We are going to build the best car in the world. This is your part of the job, mine is to find the money"). The least one can say is that W.O. Bentley succeeded. Not only did the general appearance improve towards very elegant 30-ies lines thanks to the skills of inhouse designer Frank Feeley, also the mechanical evolution to the rock solid 4,5 liter Meadows engine coupled to a new G9 gearbox was a big step forward. Best remembered are the many competition successes of the LG45 team-cars tuned by Fox & Nicholl. But also the excellent results of the LG45 registered DPE120 at the 1936 Monte Carlo rally. Chassis 12004 is an original LG45 Tourer which has always been sympatheticaly maintained by her successive owners. Driving her is like putting on your favorite gloves, cosy comfort and the ideal effect of smooth power available at any time. Only cars which have been properly taken care of can provide this sensation. This Lagonda's cosmetic presentation in BRG with matching green leather is very attractive with a good dose of patina which makes this tourer look absolutely right. Undoubtedly a drivers car!
