Austin Healey 100M factory "le mans"

Chassis BN2-L/230731 was produced on the 6-th of February 1956 with the USA (California) as destination. 

The BMIHT certificate issued by archivist Anders Clausager, comments: “This car is a genuine factory-built 100M model”.The last Belgian owner understood the importance to also register this Austin Healey with the 100M Le Mans Registry which resulted after close inspection in an acceptance of this Austin Healey into the World-Wide 100M “Le Mans” Registry by founder Mr. William Meade.

As was the case with many British sports cars, this Austin Healey was initially registered (black plate: JKC 921) in California, owned by a Mr. Salvatore Bottanchino, who  sold his “big Healey” to an Australian enthousiast in 1989.

In AdelaIde, Mr. John Gray, Club President of the Austin Healey Owners Club of Victoria, inspected the Austin Healey and came to the conclusion it was a genuine factory 100M.

Realising the importance of this, the new Australian owner, Mr. Harry Wysokier, made the effort to restore this Austin Healey as it should by Mr. Peter Sodaitis, an experienced Austin Healey specialist. This restoration, to as close to original specification and preserving as much original detail/components as possible, evolved slowly but steadily. 

In 2013 the car was finally ready and sold in 2014 to the successive owner, Mr. Peter Bell, who ships his car to the UK. 

Attractively finished in the original colour combination of Healey Blue/White and completely re-upholstered in the correct blue trim this immaculate and rare Factory M finally ends-up in Belgium in the collection of a discerning classic car enthousiast. 

This well documented Austin Healey still possesses today all the elements confirming the sought after Factory M provenance:

• Original (not repro) chassis number plate.
• Original (not repro) body number plate.
• Original cockpit trim rails all numbers match the body number.
• Bonnet number matches the body number.
• Boot lid stay bracket number matches the body number.
• Engine plate matching original number.
