These AC Bristols are the last years getting more and more interest from the sportscar enthusiasts. Indeed, too many "Cobra's" were replicated and logically the purists concentrate now on the early models of which the variant with Bristol engine is the most interesting one. This car with chassis nr BEX 268, was initially exported to the USA and had some "wild" years over there. At a certain moment, a Mr. Woodward raced the car for a while. Later some fools started the conversion into a "Cobra" by fitting a Ford V8 small block into the car. Luckily, this project was never finished and the whole car, including the original Bristol engine (596), came back to Europe. In our workshop, which just finished the sister AC Bristol for a customer (BEX 267), we could put the whole car rather easily back into original configuration. This consisted in a chassis + engine overhaul. The aluminium body is at the moment totally naked and slightly polished and looks great as such. We could paint the car however, for a new customer, into the colour he prefers. The leather interior in red looks rather new and is in the proces of being fitted into the car. Only very few AC ACE Bristols were produced. This nearly finished project is a unique opportunity for a real sportscar fanatic.
