Jaguar XK120 DHC 1953 LHD For me, the classic amongst the classics is without any doubt this Jaguar XK120 DHC with steel wheels and spats and in British Racing Green. Jaguar chief, William Lyons achieved with the XK120 a masterpiece of design which had under the bonnet a masterpiece of technology: the famous XK engine. His son in law Ian Appleyard demonstrated immediately the supremacy of this British sportscar by finishing the Alpine Rally unpenalized three times in a row from 1950 to 1952, and becoming the first driver to win the coveted Coupe d'Or (Gold Cup) at the wheel of the now famous Jaguar XK120 Roadster registered NUB 120. This DHC variant which offers an easy to erect and very comfortable double lined hood + wind-up windows in addition to a splendid walnut dashboard, was very recently perfectly restored in Holland. Anyone who will come and inspect this XK here in my classic car showroom will agree with me: she is a real beauty! The body shows perfect lines, the dark British Racing Green paint has mirror finish, the sage green leather interior + double duck black hood + walnut veneer, complement perfectly the global very attractive appearance. The presentation of the underneath and chassis + the engine bay are even so impressive.
