New Lancia & Pininfarina theme in our Knokke Experience Room!
Our previous theme, Jaguar XK & E-type, even though in difficult Covid times, was a huge success. We sold no less than 3 Jaguar sports cars to visitors of our classic car art gallery at the Driehoeksplein in Knokke!
We are curious to see how the classic car enthusiasts will react on our Lancia & Pininfarina theme which starts this weekend.
Looking at the photos which were made when installing today both classic Lancias in our Experience Room, we are convinced having selected a nice duo. Please have a look and let us know what you think.
The Aurelia B20GT when launched at the Torino motorshow of 1952 caused quite a stir.
Monocoque construction, all round independent suspension, powered by the first all alloy V6 engine with a perfect weight distribution thanks to the transaxle mechanical set-up (engine in the front, gearbox and differential at the rear). With a new fashion 2+2 GT body coachbuilt by Pinin Farina.
The above Aurelia is accompanied by a charming, much more select and most powerful serie: Lancia Appia Pininfarina Coupé 3-rd series from 1963.
The little sister of the Aurelia – simple but with the same degree of engineering refinement – high quality despite mass production – interesting choice of special coachwork.
Both Lancias, this Aurelia B20 and the Appia Coupé are coachbuilt by Pininfarina. Probably the best known Italian coachbuilder from Torino who’s first realisation in 1930 was already on a prestigious Lancia Dilambda. The link with Lancia remained strong throughout both companies history with many realisations amongst which both Lancias mentioned above.
Visitors of our Experience Room will agree: The refined technology from Lancia is perfectly complemented by the stylish coachbuilding by Pininfarina.
Let’s share this fascinating experience! Come and visit us.
