Vanden Plas 2 seater + dicky. English registration nr : TU1712 Chassis nr : HP 389 Engine nr : HP 395 Totally original and correct car listed in the Bentley Bible :"The Vintage Years" and in the Vanden Plas book under nr 1253. A rarity amongst vintage Bentley's...! With "bullet" back and helmet wings, this original Vanden Plas body is an ultra rare and refreshing alternative to the (too many times copied) fabric Le Mans style. Only 3 owners from new and with W. Boston, who was a Director of Bentley Motors, as first owner. The second owner, Major D.C. Maclood, had the car for 36 years during which time a sympathetic restoration was carried out culminating in the car winning its class in the Bentley Drivers' Club Kensington Gardens Concours in 1953. This lovely car is only for sale due to the death of the present owners' husband who kept the car in excellent condition since he acquired it in 1987. Starts on the button, runs really perfectly with super power and lots of torque from the magnificent 4 cylinder OHC engine. Lots and lots of charm due to the attractive patina only found on unmistakable original cars such as this one ! A beast and beauty in one !
