Fiat 1400 Abarth Touring Superleggera "Villa D'Este" 1950 - LHD   Chassis n°: 004330 Apparently only four Fiat 1400 were coachbuilt with this Superleggera Villa D'Este body by Touring. The intention was to use these cars for rally competition use. One can see that at the sporty concept of the interior with 2 bucket seats and at the back, the leather straps to carry 2 spare wheels. The sister car of the one I am offering for sale, participated at the Mille Miglia and Giro di Sicilia in 1951, but is today no longer in existence. In fact from the 4 constructed this may be the only one surviving! First owner was Mr. Camillo Livi owner of the very exclusive Villa D'Este hotel at the borders of lake Como. He kept this special coachbuilt Fiat for 5 years. This affinity is easy to understand because in 1949 the bigger sister of his Fiat 1400, the Alfa Romeo 6 C 2500 SS, was named Villa D'Este after its triumph at the concours d'elegance held at his famous hotel with splendid views over Lake Como. Until today, everybody agrees that the Villa D'Este Superleggera body by Touring is a perfect example of how the lines of a truly successful car simply are timeless. This sporty Fiat 1400 Abarth with Touring body would be a perfect entrant to participate at the historic Mille Miglia. In 1987 this sportsCoupé, as a team member of Club Italia, already did participate at the Mille Miglia. Shall we prepare this ultra-rare Fiat 1400 for you to participate at the 2014 event?
