Hispano Suiza H6B 1922 LHD If you would ask a classic car connoisseur to name 5 of the most exclusive car manufacturers in the world, I guarantee you that certainly so the name Hispano Suiza is amongst these. This prestigeous Spanish-French make had also strong connections with Switzerland through her talented director-engineer from Swiss origine Marc Birkigt. A variety of highly advanced cars, aviation engines and weapons were produced from the beginning of the 20-st century until today. Car production however stopped in 1936. One of the highlights in the Hispano Suiza automobile production at the very top of the range was certainly the H6B model featuring a mighty 6-cylinder of 6.600 cc producing 135 HP. This Hispano Suiza H6B with chassis number 10354 was delivered new to Mr. Charles W. Crocker from San Francisco as a Landaulette by Pingret & Berteau. The Crocker family was very keen on the Hispano Suiza make because this specific Hispano Suiza was part of a fleet of no less than 7 Hispano Suizas in total. A chauffeur trained by the Hispano Suiza factory was in permanent service of the Crocker family and looked after all 7 cars. During the 30-ies this Hispano Suiza was rebodied in the USA into the actual Roadster configaration inspired by and with some parts from a Gallé coachwork and based on the Fleetwood style as on Cadillac and La Salle cars. Until 1950 this Hispano Suiza stayed in the same family and at the end of that era in the hands of the family chauffeur. The second owner acquired this Hispano Suiza in 1950. The third owner in 1986 and kept this Hispano Suiza until 2006 when the car was finally sold to my customer, a German business man living in the South of France. Just before this last transaction in 2004 and 2005, this Hispano Suiza benefitted from a body-off restoration. Also my customer went all the way to have an impeccable vintage Hispano Suiza H6B roadster in his collection enabeling him to participate at international rallies and therefor asked thé French Hispano Suiza specialist Mr. Eric Limpelaer to sort his car completely out. Actually registered in France, this Hispano Suiza also possesses a FIVA passport. A marvellous prestigeous motorcar, ideal for long distance rallies.
