Lagonda M35 Rapide

This very elegant Lagonda Tourer seems to me the perfect mix of the best components available for a british prewar tourer. The chassis is exactly the same one as the M45 which is well known for its robustness. The open Tourer T9 body has one of the most striking lines of the whole range built by the factory. During the previous history of this sports tourer, someone had the clever idea to fit a full synchromesh Alvis Speed gearbox, of which everybody knows it is the best british gearbox ever produced. Finally my belgian colleagues, LMB Racing, turned the original 3 1/2L engine into a very powerful and smooth 6 cylinder. Instead of the original 88HP a potent 120HP are readily available ! As you can see from the photographs, this M35 Rapide has a great presentation in a typical two-tone combination of BR green body and black wings. The beige leather interior and the full weather equipment in black double duck complements those exterior body colours very well. The engine compartiment is looking very neat and shows some of the many clever engineering improvements made by LMB racing. This excellent static impression is totally confirmed when testing this M35 Rapide on the road : she just is a fabulous driving machine ! This well sorted elegant Lagonda is ready for immediate pleasure at a very realistic price.
