Lancia Aurelia
If I was allowed only 1 classic car in my garage, several cars could be eligible, but the Lancia Aurelia would be a strong candidate.
Taking in consideration that the Aurelia was designed in the early fifties, I have always been impressed by the modernistic approach of the monocoque concept, very clean body design and technological ingenuity.
By the time the 4-th series was in production, the Aurelia benefitted from some upgrades (2.5 liter engine and De Dion rear axle) which made this Lancia stand out even more, compared to the rival competitors on the market.
Technical details
So yes, this 4-th series Lancia Aurelia would indeed be very welcome in my garage.
Certainly so because it is:
- Matching numbers and very attractive original color combination as confirmed by the Registro Aurelia.
- Fully & properly restored approx. 15 years ago with comprehensive report and vast photo documentation by Lancia enthusiasts in Australia.
- Completely sorted-out once again by a Dutch classic Lancia specialist after importing in 2014 this Aurelia back to Europe.
- Totally reliable as proven last season during 5,000 trouble-free Kms.
On top of all this I can throw in a delicious cherry to decorate this cake: This Lancia Aurelia is the ex-1954-Salon de Paris Lancia stand exhibit.
To make this Aurelia stand out a bit more:
- A special grille was fitted to adorn the front
- + an elegant “golden” strip on the dashboard.
- And of course the stylish Nardi steering wheel + floor shift gearstick.
