After selling this summer an exactly similar B24 Spider in LHD, I am proud to have now again an even rarer RHD model in stock. The Lancia B24 Spider has always been considered as one of THE design masterpieces of the 50ies. Not only the Pininfarina coachwork is aknowledged as very pure and extremely pleasing, also the mechanical concept was state of the art technology for its time. From the total of only 240 Spiders produced, according to the Aurelia achivist, only 35 seem to have been RHD. From 1955, Lancia decided indeed to switch from RHD to LHD as standard on their production line. True Lancia enthusiasts however still prefer to have their cars RHD... This particular Spider (chassis B24-1045) is as you can already see on the photographs, in superb condition inside-out. I have experienced her mechanical condition as super with lots of power from the 2,5 liter V6. Excellent road manners are probably the strongest asset of these Spiders thanks to the clever transaxle layout (engine in the front gearbox + dif at the rear) ensuring a perfect 50/50 weight balance and the sporty agile feeling due to the shortened wheel base. This hot collectors item will look very attractive on my vast and very well situated stand at the Paris Retromobile show, but I fear this B24 Spider will be sold before that.... A rare opportunity to acquire this Italian automotive masterpiece at a realistic market value !
