When speaking of classic Italian motoring, it is impossible to overlook the magnificent Lancia Aurelia — one of the most celebrated creations of this storied marque. Throughout the Aurelia’s production run, Lancia engineers continually refined their masterpiece, with new series and subtle improvements introduced year after year.
From the original, streamlined B20 Coupé, the elegant B24 Spider America was born in the mid-1950s. Its evolution reached maturity in the more sophisticated B24 Convertible — a model produced in only 521 examples, and today among the most sought-after of all Aurelias.
Praised for its practicality without losing any of the grace and balance of Pinin Farina’s design, the B24 Convertible combines everyday usability with timeless beauty. At its heart lies Lancia’s famous 2.5-litre V6 alloy engine, delivering 118 bhp with smooth power and generous torque — a unit that provides relaxed, effortless performance perfectly matched to the car’s character.
The B24S has long been considered one of the most elegant open-top cars ever built. Its fame extended far beyond the motoring world, immortalised on the silver screen in Dino Risi’s 1962 masterpiece Il Sorpasso (The Easy Life). There, a young Vittorio Gassman drove the B24S Convertible with audacity and charm, cementing the Aurelia as both a cultural icon and an automotive legend.
As true Lancisti, the team at Marreyt Classic Cars is proud to present another fine B24S Convertible (the ‘S’ denoting Sinistra, or left-hand drive), ready now for its next fortunate custodian.
This particular example was assembled in May 1957 and remains a matching-numbers car, with chassis no. B24S-1350 paired to engine no. B24-1463. A full restoration was completed in 2013, finished in an understated Grigio (light grey) exterior beautifully complemented by a dark red leather interior. The car is further accompanied by its original hardtop.
Documentation includes Belgian registration papers and the all-important ASI Historic Passport (certificate no. A1234), awarded Gold Plate category.
An opportunity not to be missed: one of the most elegant and technically advanced cars of its era.
