Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce 1960 LHD Chassis: AR 1495 10445 This new style Alfa Romeo was certainly a revelation when presented to the public in 1955. The magazine "Road & Track" was very impressed with the Giulietta Spider (65 HP) and even more a couple of years later when testing the Giulietta Spider Veloce (90 HP). According to Archivio Storico from Alfa Romeo this is indeed a factory Giulietta Spider Veloce produced on the 12-th August 1960 and sold on the 6-th of April to Sicily.. In 1986 this Giulietta was acquired by a Dutch classic car enthusiast, who took very well care of his pride & joy during his 26 years of ownership. At a certain point he fitted an even more powerful 1300 cc TI engine (series 101), but wisely kept the original engine (AR 00106 00560) with the car. Also all other mechanical components were one by one carefully overhauled. When my classic car garage bought this Giulietta Spider Veloce a couple of weeks ago, we executed some cosmetic improvements including a respray in original AR505 red and a retrim in original black vinyl + some rechroming. Nice addition is an original Pininfarina hard-top (nr: 12542). My opinion? For me this Giulietta is the most typical post-war Alfa Romeo sportscar. Very elegant Pininfarina masterpiece open sportscar with amazing amount of panache from beautiful little 1300 cc twin cam engine. Rare "Veloce" variant, of which according to the Veloce Register approx 75 examples are known from a total of approx. 150 believed to be still in existance.
