I am definitively a 6-cylinder Aston Martin fan and quite like the new styling of the future V8 body.
As a teenager, being occasionally a good boy, I was allowed to watch "The Persuaders" on TV. I preferred the British flegma of Lord Brett Sinclair (Roger Moore) in his mustard coloured DBS above the typical Italian-style panache of American playboy Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis) in his red Ferrari Dino. Have a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
You understand now why I always had a soft spot for the DBS and not really understood why those great looking Aston Martin sportscars were somehow neglected by the enthousiasts for classic Aston Martins. Especially given that a DBS is rarer than a DB5, with just 802 examples produced!
Lately things are changing rapidly and the DBS is finally getting the recognition this great sportscar deserves.
I prefer the instant power (282 bhp!) and sound of the 4 liter 6-cylinder twin cam engine coupled to the delightfully technical feeling of the 5 speed ZF gearbox of the early DBS above the lazy power of the V8 coupled the power killing lazyness of the 3-speed automatic gearbox of the later DBS.
Originally sold new to California, now imported into Europe with all taxes paid.Absolutely complete and structurally sound this "barnfind" Aston Martin DBS will obviously need some TLC from her new owner, but this sportscar represents a great opportunity to become a member of the exclusive classic Aston Martin fraternity.
