Cisitalia 202 SC Cabriolet Gran Sport 1952 RHD In the automobile history it did not happen that often that a constructer made a masterpiece at his first attempt. But that is exactly what Cisitalia ( C onsorzio I ndustriale S portive Italia ) owner Piero Dusio with the help of the renowned engineers Dante Giacosa and Giovanni Savonuzzi did in 1947 with the 202 Coupé designed by Pinin Farina and worldwide recognised as a style icon. Only 153 Coupés were produced and an example is exhibited in the permanent collection of the MOMA in New York. 17 very sporty Spider Nuvolari versions were constructed and also only a handfull Gran Sport Cabriolet models coachbuilt by either Pininfarina or Stabilimenti Farina. This Cisitalia Gran Sport Cabriolet, with chassis n°: 183SC, is one of those ultra-rare Stabilimenti Farina models, with a full aluminium very smooth and streamlined open body over a tubular chassis, exactly as the Coupé exhibited at the MOMA in NY. Completely overhauled only 1 year ago by a well reputed classic car specialist in Brussels and fully prepared for this years historic Mille Miglia, at which this Cisitalia participated. Also invited beginning of October at the very select Uniques Concours in Firenze/Italy. This extremely stylish cabriolet is a wonderful classic to drive on the road. Very roomy and comfortable and surprisingly powerful for a 1100 cc 4 cylinder engine. In conclusion: a highly collectable, typical Italian "little jewel" which will guarantee her future owner everyones admiration, that's for sure!
